Are you kidding?

So that brings me to this story!
So I went to Claire's school for parent teacher conference yesterday and when I got out, the car wouldn't start. It wouldn't turn over at all...it made no sound so I called Zeb of course. He told me to jiggle the wires to the positive side of the battery and see if the connection was loose. I tried that...nothing. He had me go buy coke and pour it over the corroded part (have no idea how to spell that) and still....nothing. So he borrowed his friend Ned's car and drove 20 minutes to Claire's school. He pops the hood we try and start it a few times and still...nothing. He pulls the car around and I am standing in a parking spot so he can park right next to me and a lady pulls up. I have her roll down her window and I say, "My husband needs to park here, he's gonna jump me!" After realizing what I had just said I had to laugh at myself. Oh, Leah!!! Okay back to the story, so Zeb tries to jump start the car....nothing. He tried revving the engine of Ned's car and still...nothing. So at this point he decides we need a new battery. We drive to Auto Zone and buy one. We go back to the car. He starts unhooking the old battery when I see the car moving back and forth quite a bit. I think, "is the car in neutral?" I immediately dismiss the thought...it couldn't be in neutral. A few minutes later my sweet husband comes over to Ned's car and smiles at me. I say, "The car isn't in PARK?" He nods his head. You've got to be kidding me! You guys, I was mortified. I had just wasted like 2 hours of Zeb's time cause I DIDN'T PUT THE CAR IN PARK!!! He was so sweet about it though which made it a lot easier!! He just kept giving me this cute smile. So I follow him back to school so he can give Ned his car back and I say just before he goes into the school, "Don't tell Ned" and Zeb smiles and says, "Oh, I'm telling Ned!" And honestly how could he not? It's such a classic story. So last night I was talking to Cindy on the phone and she says, "So I heard your story!" I was like, "from who?" and she says, "Eric!!!" So I bet all the husbands at law school all know about my lovely story!!!! Well, if they didn't before they do now! Glad we can all (including me) get a good laugh...at my expense!! :)

So when I went to tell Ned, Mike was right by him - because they're joined at the hip. Then after I got done telling the story, Eric poked his head around the corner and of course he heard the whole thing. And that my friends is the power of gossip. I won't tell you how I embellished the story, you'll all know soon enough.

That is to FUNNY!!! I am still laughing inside. Not at you, while maybe a little bit. But I think all girls have done something on those lines before and then there husband tells every one. I know I have a story like that but can't think of it at this moment.
I'm so glad you have a family blog. I want to see your Halloween pictures. Love ya

Hey- I'm glad we're not the only ones who ask Zeb for car help! ;) Thankfully ours were "real" problems.... ;) That's funny about your comment to the lady! Glad to see you have a family blog, too!

I love the "little smile." I've seen the little smile myself at certain moments and I wondered what my beloved husband could be thinking behind that smile. Well, I found out. He's thinking, "My wife is human and she needs me, and I love her so much." Among possible other things...;)

I LOVE this story. I think everyone can relate and that is the beauty of posting it on your blog- I love that you now have a "family" blog.
If I had been that lady, I would have giggled.

I love it! You crack me up. I can just imagine how much you must have been panicking. When you only have one car, car problems feel like they will turn your entire world upside down. I'm happy it all worked out, and even happier I got to hear this story. You are the best.

I'm so glad you now have a blog. I like the family picture because that's how I remember you guys. I can't believe we've been gone for so long. How much longer does Zeb have? That was a really cute story and Bryan would have just smiled at me also. What nice husbands we have! I remember driving one time and trying to accelerate and nothing was happening. I was freaking out and finally realized that my car somehow bumped into neutral. Also, I was leaving a comment on Lindsey's blog (Twilight series) and saw that you commented. I too LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these books. If you want to read about how obsessed I am with them, you should read the comment I left her.
