I have really tried to be better about laughing things off and enjoying every moment in all areas of my life. Not that I'm not happy. I couldn't have a better husband, children, family or friends. I love being a mother and wife with all of my heart. I just want to reach my fullest potential in those roles. It is something I will strive for my entire life.
Sunday afternoons are designated for quiet time in my house. Audrey naps and I usually put on a movie for Claire and Hallie so I can rest. A few weeks ago I decided that I should spend some time with the older girls. I told them I had an idea and we built a fort together. We sat inside the fort and watched a movie together with popcorn and chocolate. Isn't that a necessity? The girls absolutely loved it and I had a lot of fun with them. I just cuddled and snuggled them. Claire said, "Thanks, Mom." I asked her what for and her simple reply was, "For this." It was so precious. Then Hallie said, "I love you mom." I know I have a lot to work on as a mother but this was a special afternoon with 2 of my girls.
(Oh to have a camera to take pictures with!)

Great thoughts! I need to spend more time doing stuff like that with my kids, too. I know that it's the little things that mean the most to them! You are a great mom, by the way!
That's cute. I hope that I can be as creative and fun as you are. That was a good talk for me as well. I just read it the other night and loved it again!
You're such a good mom Leah. I don't know if I've told you this, but I have learned so much from you and the way you parent. Thank you for the wonderful example you are. Thanks again for coming up for turkey day and all you did there.
Love you.

I have helped make the fort but haven't gotten into it yet, maybe I should the next time.
I have noticed lately that I am trying to enjoy the little things, like staying in bed with all 3 boys in the morning instead of getting the day going (cuz once it is going it doesn't stop) and they seem to be happier during the day (or maybe I am).
What a great afternoon! You and Zeb truly are phenomenal parents and Robby and I learn so much from you. I hope we can be as consistent with Connor as you have been with the girls. I can't wait to see you guys.
I too need to work on this-thanks for the reminder. What a sweet idea, I'm sure your girls really did feel so special. They're blessed to have such an amazing mommy.
I am excited to see you guys when you come out for Christmas. How long will you be here?
Sounds like a great afternoon. Those girls couldn't be cuter or sweeter. I am so excited to see all of you in a couple weeks. You are a great mom, wife and sis. I love you. I want to go read that talk now. Thanks for the post.

I have often thought the same thing about enjoying the little things in life even though they may be trying. It is not easy that is for sure. Ethan was woke up wet last night at 2 but didn't get back to sleep till 4, nights like that make it extremely hard to laugh things off but it is always a goal. We made a fort for Ethan the other day after seeing you blog. He loved it, thanks for the idea
