Blue Suited Women

I took the girls to a pool/spray park in Plano today. Some friends invited us for a fun get together before school starts next week.

We got to the pool with lunches, towels and life jackets (after I went back for them) in tow and after applying sunscreen to all the girls they were off to play.

After playing, having lunch, then playing some more I told the girls they had 5 more minutes and then we were leaving. I got Julia out of her wet clothes and useless swim diaper and buckled her in the stroller while I was getting the rest of our things together. I handed her the sunscreen stick to hold because she loves that thing.

After I finished, I gathered the girls up and went around to our friends to say goodbye. I glanced down at Julia and the little smarty got the lid of the sunscreen stick off and was happily applying it to her lips and hands. I cleaned it up and took it away and as we left the spray park side of the pool Claire looks up and me and says, "Mom, those moms in the blue swimming suits were talking about you." I was very interested in what they said so I quickly said, "Oh really? What did they say?"

And this is what they said, "See that lady with the pink stroller? I can't believe she handed that baby sunscreen. That is so irresponsible."
I honestly laughed out loud.

These women have one child. I have 4. Humorous to see the difference in what we think is irresponsible.
Thank you ladies in the blue swimming suits. I needed a good laugh today.

P.S. Julia was due for another coat anyway! ;)

Hah! That is hilarious! I have a neighbor that moved here with 1 child and just had her 3rd and it is night and day different the way she responds to her kids now that she actually has her hands full! Even the fact that the ladies in the blue swimsuits had TIME to talk about someone else's parenting says it all right there! That is so funny. I needed a good laugh tonight, thanks pee

Well I have to say when I read this that was the first thing that went through my mind ... NOT! Call me crazy but I don't even see what is irresponsible about it at all, with one child or four. I was thinking that Claiare was going to say that the women in the blue suit was crazy jelous becuase you look so good after having four kids, which she probbly is. It's just eaiser to say something negative. How funny!

Wow. That is hillarious. It's funny how your perspective changes the more kids you have. I just handed Azure our sunscreen a few days ago while getting Elliot ready to go. I'm in your club for sure!

Dear Blue Suited Women,
Get a life.
Love,
A mom with 2.5 kids who is great friends with a VERY responsible mom with 4 kids. (I can only hope I have my ducks in a row like you after I have 4! Don't bet on it though)

Oh Leah, I am just so relieved somone brought this to your attention...I mean I have always taken you for an "irresponsible" person. Look at your history you were a straight A student through high school. Then you finished a 4 year degree before I even knew what a 4 year degree was...then you took care of a house and all your cute little chillins while your hubby was busy finishing his law degree...if that doesn't spell irresponsible....I don't know what does! :) LOL..What a crazy story! .P.S. never trust opinions of people who wear blue swimwsuits anyway :) Good story...I laughed for a long time:) PSS Was my sarcasim thick enough to know that I totally disagree with crazy blue swimmer???

LOL!!! As I was reading that you gave the sunscreen to her, I thought to myself well sure, I do the same thing- (but w/ the SPRAY kind! even worse!) BAHHAHAHAHA!

The lesson I've learned- most parents are trying their best. The end. We'll all eat our words someday, perhaps hers will be in the form of sunscreen. :)

LOL! Right now my thinking is anything that will entertain them for a minute is fair game. And I only have two!
